![]() ![]() I've seen some complaints on the paper options, but I really like the 4 sizes of dots, lines, and grids.Hyperlinks can be used even while holding a tool! I love that I can write on one page, tap a link, and continue writing on that page without having to switch tools in between. The rectangular one is great for resizing immediately without a bunch of buttons to press and you can also use it to rotate handwriting. ![]() I like how the select tool can be freehand or rectangular.I think the quality is also pretty great and like how there are lots of options to aid with this feature (sound volume, skip ahead/go back a little, merge audio recordings, etc.). The audio recording is such a great feature and I benefit from the live replay of what I write during lectures.I even created a scaled drawing for a project last semester with much ease thanks to that feature and continue to use it to create a column of check boxes in my planner. It isn't the perfect, but the snap REALLY makes a difference. Shape alignment!! I love how I can align shapes in rows and columns.Adding pages being separate from media is also really nice and I like how it functions. The layout of subjects and dividers is really convenient so I can see everything and I really enjoy how the interface when taking a note is laid out. I think the design is sleek all around.I know I have only had Goodnotes for about a week, but I really wanted to get this out here as I know classes are starting soon and there are probably other impulse buyers like me who are considering the switch or deciding between the two. I picked up Notability right before classes began in the fall as a recommendation from my friend who really enjoys it and have had a few gripes and noticed some similar pushback from this community, but wanted to see if the grass was really greener on the other side. Hi all! Not that anybody really cares all that much, but I'll start by providing a quick background on myself: I am a chemical engineering student and purchased an iPad over this past summer for digital notetaking.
